
Cancellation of FSIS Directives and Notices
As part of the review of all FSIS directives, the Office of Policy and Program Development has identified the following obsolete directives and notices for cancellation and they will be removed from the FSIS web page:
FSIS Directive 1210.1, Cooperative Documents. This directive is obsolete because it provides outdated information and no instructions to FSIS employees. No FSIS supplemental directive is needed.
FSIS Directive 3410.4, Prompt Payment of Bills. This directive is obsolete in light of FSIS’ use of an automated financial system. No FSIS supplemental directive is needed.
FSIS Directive 3700.1, Collecting Debts. This directive is obsolete and contains outdated information. It only describes internal processes followed in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. No FSIS supplemental directive is needed.
FSIS Directive 3805.3, Conditions for Reimbursing Travel Expenses of Nongovernment Traveler. This directive is obsolete because relevant instructions are found in FSIS Directive 3900.1, Temporary Duty Travel.
FSIS Directive 3830.2, Government Travel Charge Card Program. This directive is obsolete because relevant instructions are found in FSIS Directive 3900.1, Temporary Duty Travel.
FSIS Directive 4300.5, Details of Personnel. This directive is obsolete and contains outdated information. All the current information about details and temporary promotions can be found at Details and Temporary Promotions.
FSIS Directive 4300.8, Recruitment, Relocation, And Retention Incentives. This directive is obsolete because the relevant instructions are found in Department Regulation (DR) 4050-575, Pay Administration – Recruitment, Relocation and Retention Incentives.
FSIS Directive 4351.1, Reduction in Force. This directive is obsolete and contains outdated information. FSIS will follow instructions as provided by the Department.
FSIS Directive 4451.5, FSIS Outreach, Recruitment, and Non-Monetary Recognition Programs. This directive is obsolete because of the cancellation of the vendor contract.
FSIS Directive 4451.12, Employee Suggestion Program. This directive is obsolete because FSIS has suspended this program.
FSIS Directive 4610.6, Daily Duty Limitations for In-Plant Inspectors. This directive is obsolete because the information is covered in the Labor Management Agreement.
FSIS Directive 4831.3, Retirees Requesting Encased Badges as Mementos. This directive is obsolete because FSIS has discontinued the service of encasing badges.
FSIS Directive 6330.1, Carcass Spraying During Chilling. This directive is obsolete because relevant instructions are found in FSIS Directive 6700.1, Retained Water in Raw Meat and Poultry Products and FSIS Directive 7120.1, Safe and Suitable Ingredients Used in the Production of Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products.
FSIS Directive 6910.1, District Veterinary Medical Specialist (DVMS) – Work Methods. This directive is obsolete and no longer reflects accurate instructions to DVMSs.
FSIS Notice 24-24, Continuing Education Program: College Tuition Reimbursement. This notice is obsolete because FSIS has suspended this program.
