Woodbridge, Va.
On April 7, Administrator Paul Kiecker spoke about food safety with the theme of “Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill” at a bingo event held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1503 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Kiecker met with the event chairman, Bernie Carter, and volunteers (in red shirts) who helped distribute bags containing food thermometers and food safety information.

Beltsville, Md.
On April 8, Deputy Administrator Terri Nintemann met with the team which coordinates delivery of supplies from the USDA Materiel Management Service Center (MMSC) in Beltsville, Maryland. In addition to hardhats, sanitizer, freezer jackets, and PPE, the team described how they stocked up on cooling gear in preparation for the summer needs of inspection personnel. Nintemann held a box of the “Sqwinchers” hydrating drinks that the MMSC has stocked in one full aisle, four pallets high. FSIS personnel can submit orders online, and the page has instructions for obtaining system access.

Beltsville, Md.
On April 8, Deputy Administrator Terri Nintemann met with FSIS personnel at the newly renovated office space in the George Washington Carver Center in Beltsville, Maryland. They observed FSIS training computers being set up for distribution. They also visited the filming and video production room and met with personnel from the Civil Rights Staff and the Center for Learning team.
