Thanksgiving is an opportunity to reflect on what we are grateful for, and we want to share our appreciation for FSIS employees. You continue the legacy of making this agency a responsive and effective government team that has tirelessly improved food safety over the past century. The COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges for our employees. We know that these past two years have been trying and that both Agency leadership, as well as this country, have leaned on you all to continue to ensure food safety despite these adversities. The FSIS team has weathered this tumultuous environment and we will continue to support each other and our communities going forward.
The meals we will enjoy this Thanksgiving holiday are a testament to the hard work and commitment of thousands of FSIS employees. Millions of Americans will gather and consume FSIS-inspected products that carry our mark of inspection. Many will rely on our safe food handling guidance, too — delivered through our Meat and Poultry Hotline or the science based factsheets on our website. They trust that federally regulated products are safe, wholesome and accurately labeled because of your commitment to public health. Your resilience and dedication allow families to focus on their loved ones and holiday traditions for Thanksgiving.
We hope you savor this special time with family and friends and we hope each of you have a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving. Thank you for everything you do!
