FSIS Announcement
WASHINGTON, Oct 20, 2011 - Kuck's Turkey Farm, a St. Marys, Ohio establishment, is recalling approximately 2,325 pounds of fully cooked skinless turkey breast products. The products contain wheat and soy, which are not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Wheat and soy are known allergens.
The products subject to recall include:
- Cartons containing 7- and 8-lb. packages of "AMISH HERITAGE "ROTISSERIE SEASONINGS" TURKEY BREAST."
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "P-34592" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the package label, a sticker with sell-by dates from 10/09/11 to 11/28/11 on each package, and a case code of "62012" on each carton. The products were produced between Sept. 4, 2011, and Oct. 14, 2011 and were shipped to a distributor and a retail establishment in Ohio.
The issue was discovered by an FSIS inspector conducting a routine labeling review. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and to ensure that steps are taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers.
Consumers and media with questions about the recall should contact the company's manager, Karl Kuck, at (419) 753-2620.
