
Recall Notification Report 052-2015 (Flap Meat Beef)

WASHINGTON, April 3, 2015 Viz Cattle, an Irvine, California establishment, is recalling 62,841 pounds of flap meat due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products do not list ingredients on the product label; however the product does not contain any undeclared allergens or ingredients of public health concern.
The flap meat beef product was produced on various dates on or before March 18, 2015. The following product is subject to recall: [View Label (PDF Only)]
- 30-lb. cardboard boxes containing FLAP MEAT TB.
The products subject to recall bear the Product Code 10251734 on the boxes and TIF 120 inside the Mexican Mark of Inspection. These items were shipped for institutional use to locations in California.
The problem was discovered during a routine label review when an inspector noticed that the product lacked an ingredient statement.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
