  1. PURPOSE
    This notice provides official notification of the USDA’s Material Management Service Center (MMSC) end of fiscal year inventory reconciliation closure. 
  2. BACKGROUND
    USDA requires an annual MMSC supply items inventory and reconciliation at the end of the fiscal year.  During this period, MMSC will also conduct a financial reconciliation and fiscal year close-out beginning September 12, 2022. The MMSC will continue to receive shipments from vendors, but supplies, including backordered items, will not be processed for shipment to employees until October 3, 2022.. Upon completion of this close-out, stocks will be adjusted, and the MMSC will be ready for FY23 operations.

  3. ORDERING GUIDELINES

    1. Employees may place routine supply orders until midnight Friday, September 9, 2022, for immediate fulfillment. The MMSC will only accept emergency requests during the close-out period, from September 9-October 3, 2022. Emergency requests are to be sent via e-mail to cfpdc@dm.usda.gov since the online ordering system will not be available. Employees are to plan ahead and submit timely requests by September 9, 2022, to accommodate supply needs during the close-out period.

    2. The MMSC will resume normal operations on October 3, 2022.
