FSIS Announcement
WASHINGTON, May 16, 2014 Transatlantic Foods, Inc., a New York company, is recalling 449,000 pounds of pork products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
Transatlantic Foods, Inc. operates two establishments—one in Scranton, Pa. and one in Andover, N.J. Both establishments used labels with false no antibiotic claims. FSIS is investigating this episode of misbranding that lead to the recall.

FSIS and the company have received no reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products.
The pork products in the recall were produced from January 2012 through February 2014. The products bear the establishment number iEst. 33806” or iEst. 45100” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. These products were shipped to retail, internet and wholesale locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered when FSIS received an anonymous tip and began an investigation into the establishment.
