Salmonella Risk Profile and Sampling Datasets
In May 2022, FSIS initiated a risk profile for Salmonella subtypes in poultry linked to foodborne illness. FSIS developed the risk profile to provide information on whether certain serotypes or subtypes of Salmonella should be considered as adulterants in specific poultry products within the meaning of the PPIA (21 U.S.C. 453(g)). The risk profile involved a comprehensive systematic review of literature and supporting data designed to provide responses to six risk management questions.
