- Poultry and poultry products.
- Meat and meat products, including pork and bone-in and boneless beef and beef products.
Meat/Poultry frozen at -18° or less must reach Lebanon within 180 days of the production or packing date. Processed meat/poultry products should have the manufacturing and expiration dates on the immediate container. If coded, explain each code on the export certificate. The maximum usability period for processed or prepared meat/poultry products is specified for two years at most
All export applications for meat and poultry exports must be entered and processed through PHIS beginning Monday, March 6, 2023.
Effective for all meat and poultry export certificates approved, signed, and issued on or after March 6, 2023, the below FSIS Letterhead Certificate will no longer be signed and issued by FSIS IPP. Instead, the export applicant will select the equivalent statements via the PHIS statements module when completing the export application in PHIS. The selected statements will be added by PHIS in the remarks continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B.
- PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5 - Meat and Poultry Certificate of Wholesomeness. PHIS will apply the date of approval, the digital signature and add DVM behind the signature of the FSIS veterinarian. *
- For beef and beef products, *
"The United States is free from the following significant World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) listed diseases of cattle: foot and mouth disease, rinderpest, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, lumpy skin disease, Rift Valley fever and heartwater. The beef and beef products were not derived from cattle subject to an official eradication program for an OlE listed disease which can be transmitted by the certified commodity." *
"The exportation of beef and beef products is in accordance with the guidelines of the OIE regarding bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE)." *
"The product does not contain and is not contaminated with specified risk materials as defined by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service in U.S. regulations 9 CFR 310.22(a)." *
"The use of hormonal growth promoters for ruminants in the U.S. is in accordance with the relevant Codex Alimentarius norms or U.S. Food and Drug Administration standards." *
"The beef and beef products were subject to residue testing in accordance with the U.S. National Residue Plan." "The animals from which the beef and beef products were derived were born, raised, and slaughtered in the United States or were legally imported." *
"The animals from which the beef and beef products were derived received ante and post mortem inspection under veterinary supervision and showed no evidence of systemic contagious or infectious diseases." "The beef and beef products were derived from official slaughter, cutting, and processing establishments approved and inspected regularly by the U.S. Department of Agriculture." *
"The wrapping and/or packing of the beef or beef products bear the U.S. inspection legend showing the official establishment number of the production plant." * - Include slaughter dates and expiration dates in the "remarks" section of FSIS Form 9060-5B. Meat and poultry products must reach Lebanon within 180 days of slaughter. *
- Meat and meat products must be loaded onto the ocean vessel within 30 days of the date on the FSIS export certificate.
- An import permit is required for fresh (unfrozen) poultry meat. Imports of frozen meat, frozen poultry (including livers) no longer need a prior import license.
All federally inspected establishments are eligible to export to Lebanon.
