All export applications for meat and poultry exports must be entered and processed through PHIS beginning Monday, March 6, 2023.
All FSIS export certificates accompanying the product must be signed by a FSIS veterinarian. PHIS will add DVM after the digital signature. *

Poultry and poultry products: PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5--Export Certificate of Wholesomeness *

Beef and beef products: PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5--Export Certificate of Wholesomeness *

Pork and pork products: PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5--Export Certificate of Wholesomeness *
- Lamb and lamb products: PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5--Export Certificate of Wholesomeness *
- Goat and goat products: PHIS will generate FSIS Form 9060-5--Export Certificate of Wholesomeness *
Exporters must accompany all poultry shipments to Ghana with the following statement:
- "Fat content is ______%"
Note: This statement should be supported by fat analysis performed in an USDA certified laboratory. According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana, the maximum fat content standard for poultry is fifteen (15) percent. This statement is not to be signed by FSIS personnel. The fat analysis and statement are the responsibility of the exporter. IPP may sign FSIS Form 9060-5 without verifying this statement or the supporting analysis.
Note: Exporters are cautioned to work closely with Ghanaian importers to assure that the product meets all requirements as described on the import permit
All Federally inspected establishments are eligible to export to Ghana.
