Export Requirements

- Fresh/frozen beef, beef products, beef ingredients and offal.
- Sheep and goat meat, meat byproduct and meat food products from animals less than 12 months of age and produced under an AMS EV program.

If FSIS inspection personnel become aware of concerns that an AMS approved EV establishment is not properly executing its EV program, AMS should be notified at QAD.AuditService@ams.usda.gov. Inspection personnel should include their immediate supervisor on messages to AMS. The following information should be included in the message:- Establishment name, address, and establishment number
- Product type, product code, and quantity of product
- Date of production, lot number, and shift
- Date and nature of observation
- Name of country product is intended for export
- Export certificate number (if applicable)
- Any other information to verify claim
- Name of inspection official
- Sheep and goat fresh/frozen meat, offal, glands, meat products, and meat ingredients imported from Australia and New Zealand.
All export applications for meat and poultry exports must be entered and processed through PHIS beginning Monday, May 20, 2024. *
Effective for all meat and poultry export certificates approved, signed, and issued on or after May 20, 2024, the export applicant will select the applicable statements when completing the export application in PHIS. The selected statements will be added by PHIS in the "Remarks" continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B. *
- For beef, FSIS Form 9060-5: Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness is required and will be generated through PHIS. The following statements must be selected by the export applicant when completing the export application in PHIS, and will appear in the "Remarks" continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B: *
- The United States complies with the conditions in the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the OIE as a country posing a "Negligible Risk" for bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
- Additional food safety declarations:
- The bovine meat and meat products were subject to testing in accordance with the U.S. National Residue Program.
- The beef meat and beef products were produced under mandatory HACCP regulations and were found to be in full compliance.
- For protein-free beef tallow, FSIS Form 9060-5: Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness is required and will be generated through PHIS. The following statement must be selected by the export applicant when completing the export application in PHIS, and will appear in the "Remarks" continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B: *
"The protein-free tallow covered by this certificate has been tested for content of insoluble impurities with the results below 0.15% in weight."
This certification statement will be included on the export certificate based on the presentation of a certificate issued by an independent laboratory report (not belonging to the exporter and/or the manufacturer). - For sheep and goat meat, meat byproduct and meat food products from animals less than 12 months of age at the time of slaughter, FSIS Form 9060-5: Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness is required and will be generated through PHIS. The following statements must be selected by the export applicant when completing the export application in PHIS, and will appear in the "Remarks" continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B: *
- The meat is derived from animals less than 12 months of age when slaughtered.
- The meat, meat by-product or meat food product is derived from animals slaughtered in an FSIS-inspected establishment that either slaughters only ovine and caprine species or operates in compliance with a segregation program approved by the Administrator as adequate to prevent contamination or commingling of the meat with products not eligible for export to Belize.
- The ovine and caprine meat and meat products were subject to testing in accordance with the U.S. National Residue Program.
- The ovine and caprine meat and products were produced under mandatory HACCP regulations and were found to be in full compliance.
- For sheep and goat fresh/frozen meat, offal, glands, meat products, and meat ingredients imported from Australia and New Zealand, FSIS Form 9060-5: Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness is required and will be generated through PHIS. The following statement must be selected by the export applicant when completing the export application in PHIS, and will appear in the "Remarks" continuation page, FSIS Form 9060-5B: *
"The meat, meat by-product or meat food product was legally imported in accordance with U.S. import requirements."
