The guidance provides information about FSIS international equivalence for meat, poultry, and egg products, including the origin and requirements of the equivalence system, four types of equivalence determinations, and steps involved for each type of determination. It applies to foreign countries and actions they may take to seek or maintain eligibility to export meat, poultry, or egg products to the United States. It relates to 9 CFR 327.2, 381.196, 557.2, and 590.910.
