Third Party Authorities
This guidance clarifies that FSIS will not sanction any particular third-party organizations certification of nonfood compounds as definitive evidence of their compliance with FSIS requirements and advises meat and poultry establishments that a "letter of assurance" from the supplier is appropriate documentation for all chemical compounds that are used in areas of food processing, handling, and storage. It applies to official meat and poultry establishments. It relates to 9 CFR 416.
