
Dr. Parrish Endy

Dr. Parrish Endy was named the deputy assistant administrator for the Office of International Coordination of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in January 2025. In collaboration with the assistant administrator, Dr. Endy oversees all of FSIS’ international activities related to the agency’s public health and food safety mission. The office coordinates the international activities among FSIS’ Office of Field Operations (OFO); Office of Public Health Science, Office of Investigation, Enforcement and Audit; and Office of Policy and Program Development and represents FSIS in contacts with foreign governments on technical issues pertaining to the import and export of meat, poultry and egg products to facilitate the safe international trade of these products. Her functions directly support FSIS’ Strategic Goals – 1: Prevent Foodborne Illness and Protect Public Health, 2: Transform Inspection Strategies, Policies, and Scientific Approaches to Improve Public Health and 3: Achieve Operational Excellence.
Dr. Endy began her USDA career in 2016 as a relief supervisory public health veterinarian (SPHV) with FSIS’s OFO in the Raleigh district. From there, Dr. Endy moved to the Philadelphia district where she held the roles of SPHV and frontline supervisor. From October 2020 to January 2024, Dr. Endy served as a veterinary medical officer for OFO Regulatory Operations staff at headquarters. In this role, she represented OFO on multiple FSIS and interagency groups. She was recognized for her work on various projects, including the ready-to-eat and the cell-cultured product working groups.
Prior to working for FSIS, Dr. Endy was a small animal veterinarian in South Carolina. Dr. Endy holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Tuskegee, Alabama and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina.
