Mr. Jeremy ‘Todd’ Reed
Jeremy “Todd” Reed assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in the Office of the Administrator in February 2018. Reed is responsible for oversight of strategic planning, human resources, technology and data, civil rights, internal and external communications, and continuity of operations, which directly aligns with FSIS’ Strategic Goal 3: Achieve Operational Excellence.
In the COO role, Reed works to streamline, modernize, and create efficiencies for Agency systems, processes, and enhance data transparency with a focus on customer service. Before this role, Reed was the Senior Advisor for Data Integration and Food Defense in the Office of Data Integration and Food Protection (ODIFP) at FSIS. He was responsible for providing vision, expertise and guidance on data analysis, advanced analytics, performance metrics, laboratory sampling, alerts and data extraction.
Reed joined FSIS in 2010 and has also served as the Team Lead and Branch Chief in the Analytical Design Branch of the ODIFP Data Analysis and Integration Staff.
Reed studied Chinese, mathematics, and political science, and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Chinese language and Chinese history. Reed also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science.
