- State Meat and Poultry Inspection (MPI) Programs Contacts
State MPI programs operate under a cooperative agreement with FSIS. Under the agreement, a State's program must enforce requirements "at least equal to" those imposed under the Federal Meat Inspection Act and the Poultry Products Inspection Act. - Cooperative Interstate Shipping Program Contacts
Under CIS, state-inspected plants can operate as federally-inspected facilities, under specific conditions, and ship their product in interstate commerce and internationally. Without CIS, a state-inspected plant is limited to sales within its own borders even if an adjoining state is just across the highway or river. - HACCP Coordinators
Coordinators are affiliated with Universities and provide additional one-on-one advice and assistance to small and very small plants related to HACCP and HACCP Validation. Coordinators also develop and provide training. - A comprehensive listing of all state food regulatory officials is available from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO).
