Export Requirements
Last update Jun 12, 2024
All export applications for meat and poultry exports must be entered and processed through PHIS beginning Monday, June 13, 2022. Complete FSIS Form 9060-5 in the PHIS export application. *
POULTRY: Effective immediately, poultry shipments to Georgia must not exceed 7% retained water.
NOTE: USDA Export Mark: Exporters may apply the FSIS-issued USDA export mark (e.g. hand stamp or computer-generated sticker) or unique identifier (UI) to: 1) each outside container within a consignment, 2) a securely enclosed pallet or pallets within the consignment (e.g. shrink-wrapped or other effective means), or 3) the closed means of conveyance transporting the consignment (e.g. rail car, air, ocean container, truck). The USDA export mark bears the export certificate number and links a consignment to its corresponding export certificate. A UI may be any combination of numbers or letters (e.g. sales order or bill of lading number). The UI must appear in the remarks section of the FSIS Export Certificate of Wholesomeness (FSIS Form 9060-5) with the statement: “The products covered by this certificate are marked with the Unique Identifier X#X#X#X#X#X#X#X#.”
