Export Requirements for Solomon Islands

Eligible/Ineligible Products*

  1. Eligible Products
    1. Poultry meat and poultry meat products, including duck, turkey, goose, quail, & chicken except as listed in section “B. Ineligible Products” below.
  2. Ineligible Products
    1. Poultry meat and meat products not meeting the processing requirements for inactivation of Newcastle disease virus (as listed below under Processing Requirements section, paragraph B) from zones with Newcastle disease as indicated below:
      1. California –
        1. Poultry meat and meat products from birds originating from or slaughtered in Los Angeles County on or after September 25, 2018;
        2. Poultry meat and meat products from birds originating from or slaughtered in Riverside County on or after December 14, 2018;
        3. Poultry meat and meat products from birds originating from or slaughtered in San Bernardino County on or after January 24, 2019.

Processing Requirements*

  1. Processed Poultry Products must meet the processing parameters outlined in the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code Article for Newcastle Disease for the inactivation of Newcastle Disease in meat, as shown below, if originating from birds from ineligible zones indicated in the Ineligible section above:

Documentation Requirements*

All FSIS export certificates accompanying the product must be signed by a FSIS veterinarian. 

  1. Poultry meat and meat products
    1. Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5, Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness; and 
    2. Obtain FSIS Letterhead Certificate for Poultry Meat and Meat Products Exported to Solomon Islands from the United States of America.

Other Requirements*

  1. Exporters must work with their importers to ensure issuance of a valid import permit prior to shipping product to Solomon Islands.

Plants Eligible to Export*

All federally inspected establishments are eligible for export to Solomon Islands.
