Export Requirements for Dominican Republic

Eligible/Ineligible Products

  1. Eligible Product
    1. Meat and meat products from cattle, swine, sheep, and goat. An EV program is no longer required to export beef and beef products.
    2. Poultry and poultry products (except as indicated in Ineligible Product section)
  2. Ineligible Product
    1. Imported beef and beef products that have not been further processed in the United States.
    2. Fresh/frozen poultry and poultry products derived from birds raised, slaughtered, processed or stored in the States of:
      1. Alabama: on or after March 8, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      2. Arkansas: on or after February 18, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      3. California: on or after January 1, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      4. Georgia: on or after March 25, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      5. Idaho: 
        • The State of Idaho on or after December 19, 2014 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
        • The State of Idaho within a 60 mile radius shown in the attached map on or after April 11, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      6. Indiana: between April 18, 2015 and August 10, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      7. Iowa: on or after March 23, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      8. Kansas: on or after February 21, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      9. Kentucky: on or after March 17, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      10. Minnesota: on or after February 12, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 and
        • Fresh/frozen poultry or poultry products derived from birds raised, slaughtered, processed or stored within the 60 mile radius shown in the attached map in the state of Minnesota on or after march 4, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      11. Mississippi: on or after March 10, 2017 within the 60 mile radius shown in the attached map are ineligible for export.
      12. Missouri: on or after February 15, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      13. Montana: on or after March 12, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      14. Nebraska: on or after April 21, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      15. North Dakota: on or after March 20, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      16. Oregon: 
        1. The State of Oregon on or after December 19, 2014 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
        2. The State of Oregon within a 60 mile radius shown in the attached map on or after April 11, 2017 are ineligible for export.*
      17. South Dakota: on or after March 11, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      18. Tennessee: on or after March 4, 2017 are ineligible for export.
      19. Washington: on or after December 19, 2014 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export.
      20. Wisconsin:
        • On or after March 21, 2015 and before March 16, 2016 are ineligible for export, and
        • On or after March 4, 2017 are ineligible for export.

(Note:  State restrictions do not apply to poultry products cooked according to requirements specified below.)


Documentation Requirements

  1. Certification Requirements - Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5.
  2. For poultry and poultry products - FSIS Form 9060-5. The following statement(s) must be put in the Remarks section:

    Either
    1. For fresh/frozen poultry and poultry producdts: "The poultry and poultry products were derived from birds raised, slaughtered, processed, or stored in a State free from infection of poultry by highly pathogenic avian influenza since they were hatched for at least the past 21 days, and did  not display signs of the disease upon ante- and postmortem inspection."

      OR
    2. For cooked poultry and poultry products from states and regions indicated under Ineligible Products above: “The poultry and poultry products were heat treated to a core temperature of 70⁰ C for 3.6 seconds or, 74⁰  C for 0.5 seconds or 80⁰ C for .03 seconds.".*
    3. The following statement should be placed in the remarks section, but is not required for poultry parts, ground poultry, or mechanically separated poultry : "The product is Grade “B” or better.”
  3. For beef, including veal - A bilingual FSIS Letterhead Certificate for export of beef to the Dominican Republic must accompany FSIS Form 9060-5.


Plants Eligible to Export

All USDA federally inspected plants are eligible to export to the Dominican Republic.
