
Georgia Firm Recalls Chicken Breast Tenders Products Due To Misbranding and Undeclared Allergens
FSIS Announcement
WASHINGTON, April 19, 2014Prime Pak Foods, a Gainesville, Ga., establishment, is recalling approximately 24,000 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken breast products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products were formulated with egg and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label.

- 2, 5-lb. bags in a 10-lb. box of iSugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders” with the product code 77422 printed on the box.
- 2, 5-lb. bags in a 10-lb. box of iSugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks” with the product code 77448 printed on the box.
The products were produced from Dec. 12, 2012 to March 21, 2014. The products bear the establishment number iP-9165” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions nationwide.
The problem was discovered by an FSIS inspector who notified the company on April 17, 2014. After investigation by the firm, it was determined that the company didn't list all ingredients on their products' packaging labels.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
