Thousands of FSIS inspectors across the U.S. conduct daily inspection activities, verifying domestic industry compliance with applicable food safety regulatory requirements. FSIS' food safety mission extends to ensuring the safety and integrity of FSIS-regulated products exported to more than 140 countries, as well as imported food products.
FSIS deploys innovative approaches to develop and deliver outreach regarding technical, scientific and regulatory compliance information, including sustained outreach and resources to small and very small establishments.
