This guidance provides criteria previously used by FSIS for preapproval of the safety and efficacy of nonfood, chemical compounds used in food processing, handing, and storage areas. It applies to official establishments who need to ensure that the nonfood compounds they use are safe and effective. It relates to 7 CFR 59) and 9 CFR 317, 381, and 416.
