Structure of OPEER
OPEER includes the Compliance and Investigations Division, Evaluation and Enforcement Division, Internal Control and Audit Division, and Program Evaluation and Improvement Staff.
Compliance and Investigation Division
The CID manages and directs investigations, case development, and documentation of violations of inspection laws and regulations. CID consists of a Washington staff and five regions.
Evaluation and Enforcement Division
EED takes the lead for FSIS in initiating criminal, civil, and administrative sanctions for violations of FSIS laws and regulations. Quarterly Enforcement Reports summarize the enforcement actions FSIS has taken to ensure that products that reach consumers are safe, wholesome, and properly labeled.
