Codex Committee on Fats and Oils

The Codex Committee on Fats and Oils is responsible for elaborating standards for fats and oils of animal, vegetable, and marine origin including margarine and olive oil.
Fat and Oil standards adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission are located in Volume 8 of the Codex Alimentarius, Fats and Oils and Related Products.
The committee held its 24th Session in Melaka, Malaysia February 9-13, 2015. The U.S. Delegate’s Report of that Session is available.
The next session of the Codex Committee on Fats and Oils will take place in Switzerland from February 17, 2017. Upon availability, the agenda and committee documents can be accessed at http://www.codexalimentarius.org/meetings-reports/en/.
