Committee on Contaminants in Foods (CCCF)

Cadmium in Cocoa: Ecuador as a leading country of the eWG, has decided to extend the deadline to register until June 30th due to high interest in the eWG to prepare a proposal for the establishment of maximum levels for cadmium in chocolate and cocoa-derived products. Individuals in the United States still interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) as soon as possible.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information through their Codex Contact Points directly to: cccf.ewg.ecuador@agrocalidad.gob.ec  with a copy to codexalimentarius@normalizacion.gob.ec by today, June 30th, 2015, if you still wish to join the group.

Mycotoxins in Cereals: CCCF invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, chaired by Brazil and co-chaired by Canada and the United States, working in English only, on the proposed draft revision of the Code of Practice for the Prevention and Reduction of Mycotoxin Contamination in Cereals (CAC/RCP 51-2003) and the annexes, for further consideration by the next session of the Committee.  Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) as soon as possible.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information through their Codex Contact Points directly to: codexbrasil@inmetro.gov.br, with a copy to fabio.silva@anvisa.gov.br; ligia.schreiner@anvisa.gov.br; livia.inumaru@anvisa.gov.br; Nega.Beru@fda.hhs.gov; ian.richard@hc-sc.gc.ca; and elizabeth.elliott@hc-sc.gc.ca at their earliest convenience.

Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR)

Classification: CCPR invites Members and Observers to join a re-established  eWG, chaired by the United States and co-chaired by the Netherlands, working in English only, on the revision of the Classification to continue to work on the revision of the vegetable commodity groups (015 Pulses, 014 Legume vegetables, 011 Fruiting vegetables, cucurbits) and Group 020 Grasses of cereal grains including allocation of commodities in the relevant sub-groups and new commodity groups for Group 021 grasses, for sugars or syrup production and Group 024 Seeds for beverages and sweets.  Additionally, work will continue on the Tables for the selection of representative commodities in Groups 011, 014, 015, 020, 021 and 024. The work of the EWG will be considered by the 48th Session of the CCPR (April 2016).  Codex members and Observers interested in participating are invited to provide detailed contact information through their Codex Contact Points to Bill Barney (barney@aesop.rutgers.edu) with a copy to the U.S. Codex Office (uscodex@fsis.usda.gov) by July 31, 2015.

Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) 

INS: CCFA invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, chaired by Iran,  working in English only, to consider the replies to the Circular Letter requesting proposals for changes and/or additions to the INS  and to assign INS numbers for specific proteases for which no corresponding INS has been set (e.g. proteases from Aspergillus oryzae var.  and from Streptomyces fradiae). Please note the deadline for comments on the INS issues detailed in CL 2015/10-FA is September 15, 2015.  Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) as soon as possible.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information through their Codex Contact Points directly to: Dr. Behzad Marandi (bmarandi@arianprocess.com) at their earliest convenience.

Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH): CCFH requests proposals for new work and/or revision of existing standards in Circular Letter (CL 2015/17-FH. Individuals both in the United States and in other Codex member countries and observer organizations wishing to provide comments should do so by sending their comments by e-mail to Barbara McNiff in the U.S. Codex Office (barbara.mcniff@fsis.usda.gov) with a copy to the Codex Secretariat (codex@fao.org) by September 1, 2015. The CL2015/17-FH is currently available in English, French and Spanish on the FTP server as follows: http://www.codexalimentarius.org/circular-letters/en/

Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF):  CCRVDF, in CL 2015/18-RVDF, requests  proposals for veterinary drugs to be included in the priority list for subsequent recommendation to JECFA for evaluation or re-evaluation and to provide the information according to the template in the Annex of the Circular Letter. Individuals both in the United States and in other Codex member countries and observer organizations wishing to provide comments should do so in sending their comments by e-mail to the CCRVDF-USSEC@fsis.usda.gov  with a copy to the Codex Secretariat (codex@fao.org) before August 15, 2016. The CL 2015/18-RVDF is currently available in English, French and Spanish on the FTP server as follows: http://www.codexalimentarius.org/circular-letters/en/
