Expression of Interest & Call for Data: A Joint FAO/WHO (JECFA and JMPR) expert working group will be convened to work on possible approach (es) to estimate chronic dietary exposure for compounds used as both pesticides and veterinary drugs. With regard to dietary exposure assessment of compounds used for multiple purposes (i.e. veterinary drugs and pesticides), the goal of the group will be to develop chronic dietary exposure assessment methods that take account potential combined exposure from pesticide and veterinary drug residues, and to investigate the applicability of these methods using compounds that have already been evaluated as both pesticides and veterinary drugs. With regard to dietary exposure assessment, the group’s goal is to apply the methodologies developed above to some key examples of veterinary drugs and pesticides that are unlikely to accumulate (including compounds that have been evaluated as both pesticides and veterinary drugs).

Please note that expressions of interest in participating in this work should be sent by July 30, 2016, to the following: FAO: vittorio.fattori@fao.org and WHO: vergerp@who.int. The submission of data on residue and food consumption has a separate deadline of December 31, 2016. Additional details on this may be found at: http://www.who.int/entity/foodsafety/RequestForExpressionOfInterest.pdf
