Upcoming Public Meetings

Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH)

The U.S. Codex Office will conduct a public meeting on October 11, 2016, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Jamie L Whitten Building, Room 107-A, 1400 Independence Ave, S.W., Washington, DC 20250. The purpose of this public meeting is to present draft U.S. positions on the topics to be discussed at the upcoming session of the CCFH in Los Angeles, California. Persons interested in attending the public meeting in person or by teleconference are requested to register in advance by providing their name, organizational affiliation, and contact information to the CCFH Secretariat (ccfh@fsis.usda.gov) by October 6 for clearance into the building. For those who would like to participate by telephone, please use the following Call-in information: 1-888-844-9904; Participant Code: 5126092. Committee on Food Labelling (CCFL)

The Codex Secretariat has issued a Circular Letter (CL 2016/31-FL) to investigate the future direction and work for CCFL and any emerging issues that would require exploration. The CL is currently available in English, French and Spanish on the Codex Website at the following link: http://www.fao.org/fao-who-codexalimentarius/circular-letters/en/. If you are interested in having your comments considered in the U.S. response to this CL, please send your comments to Barbara McNiff in the U.S. Codex Office (barbara.mcniff@fsis.usda.gov) by February 1, 2017. Other comments should be sent directly to the Codex Contact Point of Canada (codex_canada@hc-sc.gc.ca) with a copy to the Codex Secretariat (codex@fao.org) by February 28, 2017.

JECFA Call for Data: A call for data for the 84th meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), to be held in Rome from June 6-15, 2017, has been published. The deadline for the data submission is December 1, 2016. The call for data is available on the FAO and WHO websites at the following links:
