New Electronic Working Groups (eWG)

Committee on Food Labeling (CCFL):  The Committee invites Codex members and observers to participate in an eWG on date marking, which is chaired by New Zealand and Australia.  The eWG will review the relevant sections of the General Standard for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods (GSLPF), develop a draft revised standard to incorporate the proposed date marking modifications, and prepare draft proposals to revise, as needed, those sections with regard to date marking; and consider the need for additional guidance for date marking to support the GSLPF. Countries and organizations interested in participating should provide the name, official title, and e-mail address of their representatives by September 13, 2013, jenny.reid@mpi.govt.nz and copied to CodexNZ@mpi.govt.nz.  Parties in the United States interested in contributing to U.S. participation in this eWG should contact the U.S. Codex Office at USCodex@fsis.usda.gov.
