Peru Initial Equivalence Status

Status of Document Review:
  • On October 10, 2001 and September 27, 2006, FSIS sent an initial equivalence package to the country.
  • On December 2, 2008, FSIS sent an updated version of their initial equivalence package to Peru for response.

FSIS Follow-up to Country:
  • On March 7, 2012, FSIS sent a letter of intent to Peru asking whether the country wished to pursue their initial equivalence request.
  • As of May 2012, FSIS has not received a response back from Peru concerning their initial equivalence request for meat and poultry; therefore, this file has been officially closed.
