Export Requirements for Turkey

Eligible/Ineligible Products

  1. Ineligible
    1. Fresh and frozen meat and processed meat products are not eligible for export to Turkey at this time.
    2. Fresh and frozen poultry meat and processed poultry products are not eligible for export to Turkey at this time.

Note: Poultry and poultry products may transit via Turkey to third countries.  However, poultry and poultry products from the following states are ineligible to transit via Turkey to third countries:
 

Arkansas – For certificates issued on or after March 19, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Idaho – For certificates issued on or after March 19, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Indiana – For certificates endorsed on or after May 27, 2015 and prior to November 20, 2015 and for certificates endorsed on or after January 20, 2016

Iowa – For certificates issued on or after May 7, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Kansas – For certificates issued on or after April 13, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Kentucky - For certificates issued on or after May 15, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Michigan - For certificates issued on or after July 3, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Minnesota - For certificates issued on or after March 19, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Missouri - For certificates issued on or after March 19, 2015

Montana – For certificates issued on or after June 16, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Nebraska – For certificates issued on or after June 8, 2015 and prior to June 17, 2016*

Documentation Requirements

Certification requirements for canned meat products - Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5, Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness.

Other Requirements

  1. Canned meat product(s) - The following two additional documents are required:
    1. Certificate of Origin, indicating where the food originated; and
    2. Certificate of Analysis, which includes a Physical Analysis, Chemical Analysis, and Microbiological Analysis. This analysis indicates not only the meat and products in the food but also identifies any additives (with their identification or E numbers) and quantities in the product. The values with regard to the pathogen microorganisms should also be included in the analysis.
  2. Ships' Stores - Meat and poultry products intended for ships' stores are eligible from any federally inspected facility. Product should be certified with FSIS Form 9060-5. The statement "Product intended for ships' stores" should be typed in the remarks section.
