Neither edible nor inedible products for export may contain products or by-products of pig, hog, boar or swine.
Note: FSIS is working to get clarification on beef exports to Pakistan. Until we receive it, exporters exporting beef to Pakistan do so at their own risk. The bulk as well as the consumer packs of processed food items shall be inscribed with the date of manufacture and the date of expiration.
- Ritual slaughter
Certificates must contain the statement: "The poultry covered by this certificate was slaughtered by means of a sharp knife cutting through the skin, jugular vein, and trachea to result in thorough bleeding out of the carcass in preparation for dressing and evisceration."
- Special Statements
Both edible and inedible products for export must conform to the following requirements:
- The letter of credit shall incorporate the condition that export items shall not contain products or by-products of pig, hog, boar, or swine; and
- At the time of clearance, the exporter shall submit, before Custom authorities, a certificate from the supplier that the imported consignment does not contain products or by-products of pig, hog, boar or swine.
