Export Requirements for Nicaragua

    1. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Canyon County and Payette County in the State of Idaho, on or after December 19, 2014 are ineligible for export.
    2. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Bend County, Descheutes County, and Douglas County in the State of Oregon, on or after December 19, 2014 are ineligible for export.
    3. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Benton County, Clallam County, Franklin County, and Okanogan County in the State of Washington, on or after December 19, 2014 are ineligible for export.
    4. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Kings County, Stanislaus County, and Tuolumne County in the State of California, on or after January 1, 2015 are ineligible for export.
    5. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Pope County in the State of Minnesota, on or after February 12, 2015 are ineligible for export.
    6. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Jasper County, Barton County, Moniteau County, or Morgan County in the State of Missouri on or after February 15, 2015 are ineligible for export.*
    7. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Boone County and Marion County in the State of Arkansas, on or after February 18, 2015 are ineligible for export.
    8. Poultry and poultry products derived from birds originating from or slaughtered within Cherokee County or Crawford County in the State of Kansas on or after February 15, 2015 or Leavenworth County in the State of Kansas on or after February 21, 2015 are ineligible for export.*


Documentation Requirements

  1. Poultry and poultry products must be accompanied by FSIS Form 9060-5, Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness. The city and state location of the establishment that produced the poultry or poultry product and the following certification statement must be included in the Remarks section or as an FSIS letterhead certificate:

    "The meat is derived from birds which have been kept at a farm since they were hatched or for the past 21 days and in which there has been no evidence of notifiable avian influenza (NAI) in the past 21 days."
  2. Beef and beef products. Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5, Export Certificate of Wholesomeness and an FSIS letterhead certificate
    1. The United States complies with the conditions in the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the OIE as a country that presents a Controlled Risk for bovine spongiform encephalopathy.

    2. The bovine meat and meat products were produced and handled in a manner which ensures that such products do not contain and are not contaminated with the following specified risk materials: the brain, skull, eyes, trigeminal ganglia, spinal cord, vertebral column (excluding the vertebrae of the tail, the transverse processes of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, and the wings of the sacrum) and dorsal root ganglia of cattle 30 months of age and older; and the tonsils and distal ileum of the small intestine of cattle regardless of age.

    3. The method of stunning cattle does not include intracranial gas injection or the use of sharp instruments which could cut the medulla (pithing).
