This page is used to present newly developed HIKE scenarios before they are distributed to Inspection Program personnel. Preliminary HIKE scenarios will be posted for a period of 10 working days. During this period, inspection personnel, industry, consumers, and others, will have an opportunity to review and comment on the HIKE.

FSIS welcomes any comments that will assist in ensuring that HIKE scenarios are clear, understandable, and effectively articulate how to implement the specific Agency policy addressed. All comments should be e-mailed to Hike@fsis.usda.gov.

After the comment period is over, all comments will be reviewed and any necessary and appropriate changes will be made to the HIKE. The preliminary HIKE scenario will then be removed from this page, posted with the other HIKEs, and distributed to inspection personnel.
