Workforce Training

FSIS relies heavily on technology in order to deliver food safety training to a widely dispersed and diverse audience. FSIS offers online knowledge resources, CD-ROM based training courses and materials, and traditional classroom interactions to inform the workforce.

The Inspection Methods course covers the essential FSIS inspection verification tasks for newly promoted or newly hired CSIs and PHVs. This course integrates all of the previous Food Safety Regulatory Essentials (FSRE) courses and the Public Health Information System (PHIS) training into one course.
