Constituent Update - July 5, 2013

LIMS Direct

FSIS is announcing that a replacement for the Laboratory Electronic Application for Results Notification (LEARN) has been developed. The new “LIMS Direct” application has been refined and tested and will be implemented on July 15, 2013. LIMS-Direct provides sample status and analysis result information of samples submitted to FSIS laboratories. Data are queried directly from the FSIS LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and are updated every 15 minutes. The LEARN application will continue to be available with a planned retirement date no later than October 1, 2013.

HACCP Validation Public Meeting Transcript Now Available

FSIS sponsored a public meeting in Washington, D.C., on June 25, 2013, to review updated guidance for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems validation. Updates for FSIS Testing for E. coli

FSIS posts bi-weekly updates for the agency’s raw ground beef E. coli sampling program. Included are testing results of raw ground beef component samples for E. coli O157:H7 and STECs from FSIS routine and follow-up sampling programs. Also featured is data for non-O157 STECs by each non-O157 STEC serogroup.
