Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Use (CCNFSDU) requests comments and information in CL 2014/27-NFSDU on the Draft Revision of the General Principles for the Addition of Essential Nutrients to Foods (CAC/GL 9-1987).  If you are interested in having your comments considered in the U.S. response to this circular letter, please send your comments to the U.S. Codex Office (uscodex@fsis.usda.gov) by September 12, 2014.  Other Members and interested International Organizations are asked to send their comments directly to Dr Pia Noble, Chairperson of CCNFSDU (ccnfsdu@bmelv.bund.de) with a copy with a copy to the Codex Secretariat (codex@fao.org) by September 24, 2014.  A copy of the CL should be soon available at: http://www.codexalimentarius.org/circular-letters/cl-2014/en.

Committee on Fish and Fishery Products (CCFFP) requests comments and information in Circular Letter CL 2014/25-FFP on the Proposed Draft Code of Practice for Processing of Fish Sauce for Consideration at the October 2015 Session.  If you are interested in having your comments considered in the U.S. response to this circular letter, please send your comments to the U.S. Codex Office (uscodex@fsis.usda.gov) by April 1, 2015.  Other Members and interested International Organizations are asked to send their comments directly to the Codex Secretariat (codex@fao.org) with a copy to the CCFFP Secretariat at the Norwegian Food Control Authority (CCFFP@mattilsynet.no) by May 1, 2015. Physical Working Groups (pWG)

Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) invites Members and Observers to join a pWG, led by New Zealand and co-chaired by Uruguay, working in English and Spanish, to prepare the proposed draft Standard for Processed Cheese. The pWG meeting is planned for the beginning of 2015, although the specific details of the timing and venue have not yet been finalized. New Zealand and Uruguay have commenced the process of developing working documents and these will be circulated to working group members well in advance of the planned meeting in early 2015. Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) by September 1, 2014.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information directly through their Codex Contact Points to codexNZ@mpi.govt.nz and codex-ewg@latu.org.uy by September 4, 2014.

Electronic Working Groups (eWG)

Committee on Contaminants in Foods (CCCF) invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, led by Japan and China and working in English, to elaborate the Proposed Draft Maximum Level for Inorganic Arsenic in Husked Rice and to submit relevant data to GEMS/Food.  Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) by August 10, 2014.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information directly through their Codex Contact Points to JPPSDCCCF@nm.maff.go.jp and wuyongning@cfsa.net.cn no later than August 15, 2014.

Please note that any data for the GEMS/Food template should be submitted to the GEMS/Food through its website, with a copy to the two co-chairs as attached excel sheets by September 30, 2014.  A call for data will also be made available online at http://www.who.int/foodsafety/chem/jecfa/data/en.

Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, co-chaired by Denmark and New Zealand, working in English only, to revise the project document on a draft Standard for Whey Permeate Powder.  The goal is to have the draft standard go through two rounds of comments prior to being submitted to CCMMP by March 2015.  Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) by August 20, 2014.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information directly through their Codex Contact Points to codex@fvst.dk and codexNZ@mpi.govt.nz before August 24, 2014.

Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO) invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, led by Colombia, working in English only, to revise the discussion paper and prepare the proposed draft amendment to include palm oil with high oleic acid content in the Standard for Named Vegetable Oils (Codex Standard 210). The document will be considered by CCFO in February 2015.  Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) by August 27, 2014.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information directly through their Codex Contact Points to bolarte@minsalud.gov.co with a copy to cbonilla@minsalud.gov.co by August 30, 2014. 

Committee on Fish and Fishery Products (CCFFP) invites Members and Observers to join an eWG, led by Canada and working in English only, to prepare a further revised proposed draft Code of Practice on the Processing of Fresh and Quick Frozen Raw Scallop Products.  The eWG will also consider the comments received and address the issue of biotoxin risk, dead scallops and short-haul voyages. Individuals in the United States interested in participating should provide their name, official title, and e-mail address to the U.S. Codex Office (USCodex@fsis.usda.gov) by September 1, 2014.  Individuals in other Member countries and organizations interested in participating should forward their information directly through their Codex Contact Points to Dany.Rath@inspection.gc.ca by September 5, 2014.
