Thinking Globally - Working Locally: A Conference on Food Safety Education.

Speaker Biographies

Sandra Daly

Sandra Daly is the Director, Communications and Business Services, for the newly established New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA). In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of communication planning, with a particular focus on providing information to consumers on food safety issues. In 1998, a “Foodsafe Partnership” was established in New Zealand. The partnership is a collaboration between which health providers, industry organisations, consumers and regulators are working together to promote safe food messages to New Zealand consumers. Sandra has played a leading role in the Partnership since it was first established.

Sandra has been involved in the New Zealand food regulatory program administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) since 1987 and has held a variety of roles in that period. In July 2002, the MAF food regulatory group was merged with the food safety group from the Ministry of Health to form the NZFSA.
