FSIS Constituent Update: February 20, 2004

BSE Teaching Workshops Continue

Over 120 participants from small and very small establishments and state programs have attended the Agency’s first two BSE Teaching Workshops. Participants were presented with an explanation of the new BSE regulatory requirements and were provided technical assistance and resource materials. The feedback has been positive and there is still time to register for the three remaining workshops, which are listed below.

Export Requirement Updates

The Library of Export Requirements has been updated to reflect changes in export requirements for Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, and Ukraine. Codex Schedules Public Meetings for 2004

A number of public meetings have been scheduled to occur prior to Codex Committee sessions this year. The Delegates to the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR), the Codex Committee on Meat Hygiene (CCMH), the Codex Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants (CCFAC), the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS), the Codex Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH), and the Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) have all posted public meetings.
