Status of Document Review:
- On February 16, 1993, February 25, 1999, April 28, 2000, December 29, 2005, and
January 9, 2007, FSIS sent an initial equivalence package to the country.
- On November 26, 2008, FSIS sent an updated version of their initial equivalence
package to South Africas for response.
FSIS Follow-up to Country:
- On January 3, 2011, FSIS sent FSIS sent a letter of intent to South Africa asking whether
the country wished to pursue their initial equivalence request.
- As of May 2012, FSIS has not received a response back from South Africa concerning
their initial equivalence request for meat and poultry; therefore, this file has been officially closed.
