Status of Michigan Avian Influenza Export Restrictions
After receiving reports from the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Mexico and Korea have lifted the ban on poultry exported from Michigan. Russia, however, continues to maintain restriction of this product. As stated in the September 23 USDA press release, these mute swans were resident wild birds, not migratory birds, and there was no reason to believe the birds that tested positive had any connection with any commercial poultry.
