Codex Committee on Vegetable Proteins
Host Government: Canada
The Codex Committee on Vegetable Proteins elaborated definitions and worldwide standards for vegetable proteins deriving from any member of the plant kingdom as they come into use for human consumption, and to elaborate guidelines on utilization of such vegetable protein products in the food supply system, on nutritional requirements and safety, on labeling and on other aspects as may seem appropriate. The committee adjourned sine die. The main tasks of the committee were completed. However, the committee may be called to meet again if required.

Vegetable Protein Standards adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission are located in Volume 7 of the Codex Alimentarius, Cereals, Pulses (Legumes) and Derived Products and Vegetable Proteins.
