Thinking Globally - Working Locally: A Conference on Food Safety Education.

Speaker Biographies

Martha Smith Patnoad, MS, CFSP

Martha Smith Patnoad is a Cooperative Extension Food Safety Education Specialist in the Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition at the University of Rhode Island. In this position, she has developed and implemented food safety education programs for school-age children and their caregivers, educators, volunteer food service workers, and small producers of fruits and vegetables through funded grant projects. Her responsibilities include coordination of Food Safety Manager Certification and Recertification courses offered through the University. She is a member of the National Environmental Health Association and holds their Certified Food Safety Professional credential. Also, she is a past academic advisor to the Conference for Food Protection, Council II and past president of the Rhode Island Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
