Speaker Biographies
Darlene Myatt
Darlene Myatt coordinates nutrition
education projects for low-income
youth in Tarrant County as an
Extension Agent with the Expanded
Nutrition Program of Texas Cooperative
Extension. She is responsible for
program development, implementation,
evaluation, and marketing activities
which help participants learn and
practice better eating and food
preparation habits for better diets
and improved health. In addition to
supervision of paraprofessional,
support, and volunteer staff, Darlene
networks with local agencies to secure
material and human resources for
program expansion efforts which
attract the diverse needs and
interests of urban youngsters.
Darlene is a recipient of the Vice
Chancellor’s Award in Excellence,
Texas A&M University System; Superior
Service Award, Texas Agricultural
Extension Service; Diversity Award;
National Extension Association of
Family and Consumer Sciences; Youth
At-Risk Award; Texas Association of
Extension Home Economists and has been
honored with Distinguished Service
Awards from Epilson Sigma Phi and the
National and Texas Extension
Association of Family and Consumer
Sciences.
