FY 2001 FSIS Support for State Retail Food Safety Task Forces and Retail Education OutreachNote: You will be leaving the FSIS server when you follow some of the following links; please bring any technical problems to the attention of the webmaster at the destination site.
As part of the FSIS' farm-to-table strategy for improving food safety, the agency has initiated a number of cooperative agreements to foster improved education and understanding of the risks associated with the handling of meat, poultry and egg products by retail stores and food service facilities. The principal beneficiaries of these efforts are the state and local sanitarians who inspect these establishments and the small retail store and food service facility owners or managers. In FY 2001, FSIS entered into the following cooperative agreements.
In addition, FSIS has entered into a cooperative agreement with the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) to provide train-the-trainer educational programs nationwide to state and local sanitarians who inspect these establishments and small retail store and food service facility owners or managers. For information on AFDO's train-the-trainer meat and poultry processing course, contact the AFDO Office at (717) 757-2888 or afdo@afdo.org. These agreements collectively provide over $500,000 to support educational initiatives. | ||||||||||||||||
