in 12- to 24-ounce packages are subject to recall:

| Problem/Reason for Recall: | The product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. |
| How/When Discovered: | Follow-up samples, collected by North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Food and Drug protection Division, from retail markets returned positive results for Listeria monocytogenes. North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services authorities notified FSIS and Lay Packing of the lab results. In addition to the product represented by the positive samples, the firm is voluntarily recalling all franks, wieners and hot dogs that are in commerce up to the sale date of December 08, 2000. |
