Product(s) Recalled:  ''Supreme Beef Processors, Inc.'' and ''Spiritas Farms'' ground beef products.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: The recalled products were produced on December 20, 1999. Retail products are: ''Supreme Beef Processors, Inc.'' or ''Spiritas Farms'' fine ground beef packages (and patties) weighing one, two, and five pounds with a ''Sell-By'' date of Dec. 28, bearing the establishment number 7143. Also, five pound chubs (tubes) of fine ground beef with no specific brand name, bearing the establishment number 7143 and the ''Sell By'' date of January 04 and 05 were distributed. The wholesale products are: 10 pound chubs of fine and coarse ground beef bearing Est. 7143 in the mark of inspection and the ''Sell By'' date of January 04 and 05 with no specific brand name.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Potential Escherichia coli O157:H7 contamination.
How/When Discovered: An FSIS microbiological monitoring sample of E. coli O157: H7 was collected on December 20, 1999, and reported positive for E. coli O157: H7 on December 25, 1999.
