Production Dates/Identifying Codes: The ground beef products were produced on July 11, 2000, and packaged in 5- and 10-pound packages. The packages are marked with "Est. 1311" inside the USDA mark of inspection, the production code " 07/11/00" and were shipped in boxes weighing 20-60 pounds.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Possible Escherichia coli O157:H7 contamination.
How/When Discovered: An FSIS microbiological sample (of 07/11/00 product) was collected on July 24, 2000, and reported positive for E. coli O157: H7 on July 29, 2000.
