Product(s) Recalled:  "Sabrett" brand and "Western Beef" brand Skinless Beef Frankfurters in 16-ounce and 5-pound packages.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: All product, bearing any and all codes with the number "8854" appearing in the USDA mark of inspection. The plant ceased production on October 14, 1999.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
How/When Discovered: Samples collected by and analyzed for the firm, following the October 13, 1999 recall, returned positive results for Listeria monocytogenes. The firm expanded the recall in progress and immediately notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service.
