Product(s) Recalled:  Ready-to-eat, cooked sausage products packaged for consumer use with the following product names:
Gaspar's Linguica, Gaspar's Chourico, and Gaspar's Turkey Chourico in approximately one pound packages.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: Product packaged on August 11, 1999. Each package has a "sell by" date of 11/03/99 followed by 01 or 02. Each package bears "EST 287" or "EST P287" inside the USDA inspection mark on the label.
Problem/Reason for Recall: The product may be contaminated with L. monocytogenes.
How/When Discovered: An FSIS routine microbiological monitoring sample of Linguica Sausage was collected on August 17, 1999, and reported positive for L. monocytogenes on August 26, 1999.
