Product(s) Recalled:  Ready-to-eat, fully cooked bacon products, Bacon Bits and Bacon Pieces packaged for institutional use with the following product names:

Real Bacon Topping, Bacon Pizza Topping, Premium Small Real Bacon Chips, Real Cooked Bacon Topping, and Fully Cooked Bacon Bits packed in various size boxes (10, 20, and 27.5 pounds).
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: July 5, 6, 7, 8, 21 and 22, 1999. All boxes are identified with the establishment name (Marburger Foods), establishment number in the inspection legend (# 6863) and any of the following codes: MF7050**** 0100A or B; MF 7060**** 0100 A or B; MF7080**** 00100 A or B; MF 7022**** 0100 A or B; 07 06 99; 07 07 99; 07 21 99 A or B The **** are various numerals representing the production hour.

Problem/Reason for Recall: The product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
How/When Discovered: L. monocytogenes was found in a sample analyzed for the establishment by a private laboratory. The sample was collected from July 5, 1999, production and reported positive on July 26, 1999. The establishment reported the finding and its intention to recall to the FSIS on July 27, 1999.
