Product(s) Recalled:  Maple Leaf Farms brand Crunchy Chicken Nuggets in 10-ounce packages.
Production Dates/Identifying Codes: Produced between January 1, 1999, and May 4, 1999, with an identifying code number of from 9001 to 9124 embossed on the end panel above the opening "zip" strip.
Problem/Reason for Recall: Contains undeclared whey (a class II allergen)
How/When Discovered: A consumer complaint was filed alleging that a child with an allergy to dairy products suffered a reaction following consumption of this product. FSIS officials were told, by the producing firm, that the product in question did contain a very small amount of whey that, until May 4, 1999, was not declared on the label.
